Opis

Siddhartha, written by Hermann Hesse, is a philosophical novel set in ancient India that explores themes of self-discovery, enlightenment, and spiritual awakening.

The story follows Siddhartha, a young man born into a Brahmin family, who feels that traditional religious practices cannot lead him to true wisdom. Leaving his family behind, Siddhartha embarks on a journey to seek enlightenment, traveling through various phases of life as an ascetic, a wealthy merchant, and finally, a simple ferryman who learns from the river itself. Alongside him for part of the journey is his friend, Govinda, who also seeks spiritual fulfillment. Ultimately, Siddhartha discovers that enlightenment cannot be taught or attained through rigid doctrines; instead, it is an experiential journey of self-discovery and compassion.

Siddhartha is a timeless exploration of the human quest for purpose and inner peace.
